Exploring Andamento - Ancient and Modern

Course Overview
The aim of this course is to enhance your mosaic making skills to a higher level. You will be learning from the ancients! Analysing and recreating elements of traditional masterpieces will help you understand the principles of cutting and laying used centuries ago. You will find that these techniques will be beneficial in your mosaic practice today. In addition, you will be encouraged to research contemporary styles of Andamento using less traditional materials and use your knowledge to create a unique design.
Advanced Mosaics
Dates: Starting September. Exact dates TBC Day: Wednesdays Times: 10:00am - 1:00pm Duration: 10 sessions Support: Those on certain benefits can attend for free Take your mosaic skills to the next level! You will develop and complete a complex design or method that is specific and unique to you. With guidance and advice, you will be provided with support as you go through each stage. By now you will have understood and practised various mosaic techniques and become adept at using the tools and materials. This is a chance to continue developing design and cutting skills and to allow your personal style to evolve. |

Block 1A: Sept 16th, 30th & Oct 14th
Block 2: Nov 4th, 18th & Dec 2nd
6.30-9.30pm
Cost - £100* for each block (3 evenings) Price includes materials*, drinks and snacks.
* Unless extra large or unusual.
These sessions are suitable for everyone! From absolute beginners who are looking to learn a new skill along, with regular and returning students who have caught the mosaic bug! All enjoy the space to be creative, the feedback, and camaraderie of the group. Many have found that this is precious time carved out in the busy week to immerse oneself in ongoing projects or experiment with new techniques. Come with your own designs and ideas or be guided through a project.
These sessions book up so to secure a place, payment in advance is necessary.

Catch Up Sessions

These sessions are open to students from any of my recent courses or workshops (12 months), to come and work in the studio on current projects. This is not a teaching session but I will be around for help and advice if needed.
Materials needed during that session can be purchased at cost price on the day.
