23/10/2014

Its back, the Sherwood Craft Fair, and as last year, all sorts of deliciousness from Beth at The Kiosk and spiced hot apple juice from Anna Dixon.
I will be there of course selling a new range of mosaic rings, pendants, cuff links, some original mosaics and prints.

Good Times...

What a great week so far: completing the door handles (see pics below), seeing Miranda Hart live at the Ice Arena with the girls but the highlight being meeting up with an old friend who I hadn't seen for 18 years! She has just moved 5 minutes away with her partner and beautiful babies.

Today I'm catching up with work and house jobs and look who is keeping me company...

This is HERBI our 4 year old Horsfield tortoice (or my 3rd child as my husband says!).

Following a planning morning I cleaned a cupboard in the kitchen and rather embarrassingly, look at what I found...

3 guesses as to our favourite condiment?

Anyway, as promised some images of the completed door handles.

 Work in progress....

Wow! It's been a busy few weeks, the balance has been tipped towards teaching, leaving my one precious day left in the week to work on commissions and plan the lessons ahead, not to mention house and family stuff...blah blah.
Managed to snatch some time to work on the door handles though...

Customers to Room Full of Butterflies will be handling this mosaic many times a day so I needed to create a flat surface which is why I used the reverse method, its so fiddly!

Its been a delight this year to lead the year 7 and 8 students of Bluecoat School in the design and creation of a large mosaic for their reception area. Progress is slow but I have to say it is looking fantastic! It's been lovely working with a small, keen group who practice their singing  while they work! (The chocolate biscuits help too.)
