Currently the largest voluntary sector provider of adult education in England and Scotland, they are dedicated to bringing high-quality, professional education into the heart of communities. The main aim for this course is for you to build your mosaic confidence and advance your practice —whether that is with new methods, enhancing your designs, or greater intricacy. You will be encouraged to undertake independent research, plan and design your own projects and calculate the costs. You will study the work of local and international contemporary mosaic artists learning from their techniques and processes as well as their designs.

The aim of this course is for you to bring your favourite landscapes and seascapes to life in mosaic form. Whether you are inspired by personal photographs, sketches, or dream destinations, this course will guide you in transforming these special places into vibrant mosaic artworks. You can also explore abstraction; designing and creating pieces that captures the essence of a landscape or seascape in an imaginative way rather than relying on figurative interpretation. This is a mindful, absorbing practice while allowing you to refine existing skills over several weeks. Using a variety of materials, including natural elements, glass and china—you will combine tesserae to evoke texture, movement, and atmosphere. You will have the creative freedom to develop your personal vision, sharing your journey with your peers and tutor, while gaining and giving feedback to others. TL Outcomes: Increased confidence, mental health and well being.

3 Dimensional Mosaics Jan 2026

Mosaic is a versatile artform. It can be applied to three dimensional substrates giving colour, pattern and added structure to functional and decorative pieces. This course gives you the opportunity to apply your mosaic knowledge onto 3D surfaces. Starting with ready-made or found items such as plant pots, you will also learn how to make undulating substrates, as well as create or sculpt your own as a base for your mosaic. This course will elevate your mosaic skills while enhancing your well-being as you engage in this mindful, creative process. You will discuss and share your progress with the group and learn from your peers by giving and receiving feedback and support from them, and your tutor.
